Morella: Just a 45 minutes’ drive brings you to the historic and atmospheric town of Morella which is surrounded by 2 km of superbly preserved walls with 6 gates and 16 defensive towers. You can see Morella from miles around as it lies right on top of a hill at an altitude of 1072 m.

Ebro Delta: 1½ hour away is this beautiful Natural Park, a wetland and rice-growing area with more than 330 species of resident and visiting birds. The best way to explore the area is on foot, bike, or horseback, or by renting a boat. Or visit the excellent Information Centre MónNatura.  

Gastronomy: Visit the Bodega Venta d′Aubert in Cretas for organic wines, or the ecological oil mill Identitat in Horta de Sant Joan and treat yourself to the extra virgin olive oil which comes from some of the best olives in Spain  . Buy prize-winning goat´s cheese from La Fresneda or treat yourself to the local cured hams of Teruel. There are excellent restaurants in the Matarraña, some of which are in the red Michelin Restaurant Guide  . You can also find delicious tapas in the local bars.
