Welcome to the website of Camping La Fresneda! We are a Dutch couple who would like to introduce to you, with a lot of enthusiasm, the beautiful but little known region 'Matarraña' in the northeast of Spain near the border with Catalonia.
The Matarraña is characterized by hilly landscape, Medieval villages and olive, almond and wine groves and is bordered by the National Reserve 'Los Puertos de Beceite' where the ibex still has a large population. The Matarraña as well as the National Reserve has many unpaved tracks to enjoy the changing views and abundant flora and fauna by foot, on horseback or on a mountain bike.
Camping La Fresneda is situated in our own 'finca' in a beautiful valley overlooking almond and olive groves and has a panoramic view to 'Los Puertos de Beceite'. The ancient village of La Fresneda is 3 km away.
Our rural campsite (second category) lies at a height of 565 m and offers 25 spacious pitches all with a spectacular view over the valley. On the terrace of our bar we serve meals or you can quietly sit down for a drink whilst enjoying the sunset.
Because of the beautiful location and its friendly and relaxed atmosphere our campsite is the ideal base from which to explore this beautiful but little known part of Spain.
In 2009 the camping guide “Cool Camping Europe” chose Camping La Fresneda as the most beautiful campsite in Europe: “It’s perfectly and tastefully adapted to get a full-on Spanish experience. A little piece of paradise”.
