• Cultural visits (with or without a guide) to one of the monumental villages in the area: La Fresneda, Beceite, Calaceite, Valderrobres (castle) and Ráfales.

• Excavated prehistorical settlements in Calaceite, Cretas, Mazaleón and Valdeltormo.

• Prehistorical paintings in Cretas and Beceite.

• Picassomuseum in Horta de Sant Joan, Art Gallery Noguera in Beceite, Olive oil museum in Ráfales, Paleontologic museum (also nice for children) in Peñarroya de Tastavins.

• Morella: Just a one hour drive brings you to the monumental and atmospheric town of Morella which is surrounded by 2 km of superbly preserved walls with 6 gates and 16 defensive towers. You can see Morella from miles around as it lies right on top of a hill at an altitude of 1072 m.

• Ebro Delta: 1½ hour away is this beautiful National Park, a wetland and rice-growing area with more than 330 species of resident and visiting birds. The best way to explore the area is by foot, on a bike, on horseback or by renting a boat. Or visit the excellent Information Centre MónNatura.

• Gastronomie: Visit the Bodega Barbará Fores in Gandesa, buy prize-winning goat's cheese from La Fresneda or treat yourself to the local cured hams or the “extra virgen” olive oil which comes from the best olives in Spain.
